Welcome to the Mission of Mercy Shoals Website!

Mission of Mercy Shoals (MOMS Inc.) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation that was established in Florence, Al in 2000. Our Mission is to help people who suffer from the effects of alcoholism and drug addiction. MOMS provides an adult male and female residential rehabilitation program that is certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Division. The MOMS program is faith-based and firmly rooted in traditional 12-step recovery. Our hope for these men is that they will get to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. MOMS strives to collaborate with other agencies to provide relevant recovery services not provided directly by our agency.

Randy Hargett

Chaplain, Co-Founder

rhargett@comcast.net

Randy’s passion and love for those suffering from addiction came out of family tragedy.  His brother, Robert, died from this disease in 1989 at the age of 23.  Randy left a career in Chemical Engineering in 1995 to become a full-time pastor in a local church.  In 1997, God brought David and Anthony to this church, and the rest is history.  In 2002, Randy became a Certified Long Term Care Planner and started an insurance practice as his vocation.  Today, he is an Endorsed Local Provider for the Dave Ramsey Show. As a volunteer Chaplain for MOMs, Inc, he leads spiritual growth meetings and pastors a Sunday morning fellowship to study the 12-Steps from God’s word.  He provides for group and individual spiritual counseling for our clients.  From a humble beginning with a 12-Step program in a small, local church, God has continued to keep us humbled. His hand has guided MOMs, Inc for the past 19 years.
